crashing computer

hi I recently had to wait a few months to get my computer memory upgraded and had the sims 3 uninstalled so got it upgraded and its a windows 7 with service pack 1 and 4gb of memory in it so it has enough. well I re-installed the base game and all 6 of my expansion packs (I have seasons, late night, supernatural, world adventures, ambitions, Showtime) and when I got into playing my game I could play for a hour maybe 2 max and the game crashed

I don't just mean went to desktop screen again I mean there was a whirring noise from my computer, a blue screen and restarted the computer

I have the latest MacAfee anti virus software so its not a bug. anyone got any help please?

    Hello,

That sounds to me like your computer is overheating. Could you post the 'System' and 'Display' sections of your DxDiag report please.

    Hello,

Unfortunately your graphics card is at the lower end of the requirements for The Sims 3, so is likely to struggle at this later stage in the game where we have a lot of patches and you've added a number of EPs that are adding to making the game harder to run. I would suggest updating your drivers from NVIDIA - there should be a newer one, however the age of the card means that it no longer has driver updates since mid-2013. I would also suggest cleaning out the inside of your PC of dust and dirt, especially around the fans and the intake/exhaust grilles.

These may prevent the frequency of crashes, however the age of your system means that crashing will probably still occur.

I hope this helps and keep simming,
