I started way back on TS1. Back then I was a teenager and I used to go to game shops most weekends (big Nintendo girl here). Unless you bought specialist magazines, gaming and game advertising was not as mainstream as it is now so you really had to keep in the loop as a gamer to find out about was being released.
One weekend while browsing in my local game store, I spotted an odd box with strange looking people on the front. I recognised the name 'Sims' from playing the first SimCity game on my neighbours PC (prehistoric PC by today's standards...) so I took a risk. WOW! It was like nothing I'd ever played before....or since...and I played it for more hours than was probably healthy that weekend!
From then on I was hooked! My parents had recently had internet installed, but as internet was still only dial-up speeds, (and 1p a minute!) I used to pay them to spend an hour to download as many kitchen cupboards, bathroom sets, clothes and items as I could! Happy times
In later years, with internet getting better, it was easier to keep in the loop so I was eager to play TS2 (even though it ended up costing me £650 as I needed a new computer to run it! TS3 was also a no brainier and again, I dread to think how much of my life has been taken up playing The Sims!
How about you? When and how did you get into The Sims? When you first see or hear about it?

As the different Sims came out, I bought every expansion and stuff pack that was ever brought out. When they stopped the moderating with the community Sim Masters, I became an avid story writer for the Sims. I have a lot to be thankful for with the Sims. As people read my stories, they suggested I continue to make them into novels, which I have since done. I have written two full-sized novels with approximately 70 chapters, based on the stories I began with the Sims when it first came out. I am now a writer and one of the two novels is out there waiting to be published the other I'm still working on to edit. I have begun another story through the Legacy Challenge for Sims 4 called "The Chronicles of Andra Stafford". Who knows this may become a novel also.
So as you can see I have a long and loving history with The Sims and it will continue. I also enjoyed making all types of Sims in CAS as to me it is a form of Art which fits in nicely, as I am a specialist Art teacher at my school.

It was huge wasn't it! With the little CD case and manual inside....
Music making, Sims playing, star gazing Zelda fan.
It must have been after The Sims 2 had already been made, though at the time I didn't know this. I remember going into Woolworths (nostalgia, sigh) with my son and we spotted TS2 and a few EPs in there and decided to move onto that almost immediately. That was at the Pets stage. Then I followed the remaining releases as they came out.
As a young teen I think I played the first sims, but I'm not totally sure, it was a long time ago, lol. I remember making lesbian couples adopt babies and starving sims to death but maybe it was sim city? I didn't do much besides making lesbians and ghosts. I'm pretty sure I played sims 1.
I never played TS2 but I bought TS3 when pets came out and quickly purchased a few other expansions. Sims 3 held my interest and feels like what truly got me into simming.
Than your a really new Simmer hello there ^^
