Can't Play

I have tried several times to send my character to University. I select the house, click rent and then click the Check mark to start playing. However, the check mark turns grey but then the game never starts. It's frozen on that screen. Has any one else experienced this or found a way around it?

I have also experienced this issue. Whenever i try to move them in the check mark stays grey but my game isn't exactly frozen...I can still move around the map view but my in won't move in.

If you are not averse to using mods, the NRaas Traveler and ErrorTrap mods combine to smooth out a lot of built in travel-related issues like this.
