Kind of late to the party here, but I love how imaginative and colorful your creations are. Definitely inspires me to get back into the game!
I can't wait to see how you upgrade PURE with the content from Get Together. Do you plan on relocating it to Windenburg?
A New Appreciation for These Sims
I have been mainly playing the game. I have done a little building, but mostly playing a large group of sims in rotation.
I have been enjoying playing Olivia as she runs her little fashion boutique.
I have been enjoying the little slices of live with my other sims. I wasn't playing Ling when she arrived to visit SimGuruGraham. Graham wasn't there, but his insane roommate was. Ling arrived with a smile and left with a...
However, story making was a big component of my fun when playing The Sims 3, so was building. I played and told stories from what I was experiencing as I played. I built to support both of them. Playing, building, and story-making were intertwined.
I plan to get back into making sim stories with The Sims 4 in a big way.
I have never used animation players before and decided It was time to give one a try.
Going through the animations and really looking at them has made me appreciate what the animators are doing.
There are a lot of animations and the series is just starting.
There are tons of animations, and I am currently sorting them out into emotional/performance categories, so I can make the best use of them. Plus I am learning new software that should make things fun to create with. A few more EPs and hopefully Seasons-in-your-town, instead of Seasons-at-your-destination, and I should be ready to go with these sims.
For now, it's just a lot of thinking, exploring, testing, and dreaming up story ideas.
Kind of late to the party here, but I love how imaginative and colorful your creations are. Definitely inspires me to get back into the game!
I can't wait to see how you upgrade PURE with the content from Get Together. Do you plan on relocating it to Windenburg?
Oh yeah, PURE is going to get a needed update.
The place needs more liveliness. It doesn't feel like my TS3 version yet.
Yesterday, I made the decision that it will be moving to Windenburg. I will probably delete the pool venue.
I never used them in TS3 and I would delete them to use the space for other lots.
[Update]
PURE will not be going to Windenburg. I forgot it was on a 50 x 50 lot.
I really like the large space that it occupies, so I will leave it where it is. I will delete EAs club in Windenburg. The place is like playing in the bottom of a bucket. I can get by with only one dance club and PURE suits me fine.
Catching Us Up
I haven't been updating what I have been doing in the game.
I have been trying to play all my sims and prepare them for Get Together. I found myself playing mainly Olivia because I was really enjoying having her run her business and going for her wealthy aspiration.
I have been playing Olivia exclusively for about a week as I went though the grinding phase of getting her the Instant Stocking, Fast Check Outs and the Cheaper Stocking perks.
I set the goals to be achieved before I expanded on her little boutique.
I am very happy for the extra space.
I plan on giving her an office and sleeping space up here. She often works very late.
At this point I was very excited to see how this would work.
Trial run.
It works out rather nice. The sims spread out to check out various items. Men tend to gravitate to the west wing and women on the east. The gender rest rooms and mannequins help with that. They still wander around, which is nice.
I think I will have Olivia work a half-day on Fridays.
She will create new outfits and perhaps do more paintings. The rest of the day will be her Me time, along with the weekend.
I think he's all set to give Don Lothario some competition.
Unfortunately Olvia's ambitious trait does not recognize her business as a career.
She always gets tense because she's "unemployed."
I need to get to work on that Carefree reward trait to stop this.
On the bright side, her ambitious trait works very well with this business.
She often get wishes to earn cash.
All I have to do is transfer her business funds to her home account. She is racking up on satisfaction points.
Happy dance?
I went ahead and furnished Olivia's office space.
I really like it.
It's really immersing me into her business.
I will add more clutter and product samples later.
I wonder if I can get two decent employees to take care of the business while she creates and perhaps start a writing career too.
Riya has a lot of work ahead of her. I want her to load up her store with impeccable herbal remedies, so my other sims can shop for them.
That's a lot of work, so I hopped over to Olivia to try out some new CC and to do some full-CAS editing.
You can only really tell the difference when you compare her with her old self.
Those crazy eyebrows keep her looking like Olivia.
Now I am getting tired of calling the repairmen. We just have to face it.
To get rid of the annoyance, you have to learn how to upgrade stuff to be unbreakable if there is no unbreakable version.
After he repaired her stereo....
...Olivia did a little flirting.
It made his day.
She added to her unique hairstyles.
She needs mixology skills because she will be joining a socialites club.
Running a business is turning out to be enjoyable, once you get past earning those sales and restocking perks.
Now I find myself taking out time to tend to her needs, granting wishes, and working on skills and relationships while running the store. I also enjoy kicking out misbehaving customers. I just wish she could be more aggressive about it.
I haven't gotten around to hiring employees yet, but she is starting to earn big money now, so that will be next.
I also experienced letting one of my other sims shop at Olivia's store. Olivia was not there, which was disappointing, but NPC employees ran the store. This made me nostalgic for TS2 because I like having my sims hang out at the clothing store and purchasing their clothes.
This is actually quite nice in TS4 because now you basically have more styled looks that you create yourself and it's logical that sim's have to pay for it. I am developing a routine for her store. Everyday, the clothing changes slightly. One day it's colors, the next day accessories. New outfits are created at the end of the week and the process begins again.
Apparently you are only allowed 4 styles per gender.
Olivia has 5 female mannequins. The fifth one in her office automatically gets one of the designs from downstairs, which is neat actually.
I plan to add more clothing stores.
Olivia's focuses on Formal and Party clothing. I will have other stores that caters to everyday and sleepwear, athletic and swimwear, and I think I will also have a costume/party store. That's four stores. I need another town.
It's time to hire some help. I don't want this to ever happen again.
The new girl, her stats are okay, but I should probably hire someone else if they have high sales skills.
She will do for now.
I will let her grab the first sale.
Olivia will grab anyone that wants to purchase while her employee is busy.
She will spend most of her time interacting with the customers. I think I will hire someone to restock. I should have the new girl restock if I can find someone with higher sales skills. Managing employees is adding another layer of game play.
Okay, that roughly brings us up to date.
I will report on what I am doing with Get Together next.
Kind of late to the party here, but I love how imaginative and colorful your creations are. Definitely inspires me to get back into the game!
I can't wait to see how you upgrade PURE with the content from Get Together. Do you plan on relocating it to Windenburg?
@DUTCHEE
Better late than never.
Thanks for posting. PURE is on a large lot and I would have to give up the gardens in back in order to locate it to Windenburg.
I'm leaving it in Willow Creek off that beach area.
But First, That Patch
I played a few situations group situations after having the game patched for Get Together. It doesn't feel as "tight" as I thought it would, (not sure what to call it) but I don't mind it so far. All I can say is I am enjoying my sims in groups much more than before the patch.
It's simply nice that they actually seem more like a group out for some fun.
Some walk away, but they seem to have reason, and it makes it feel like they still have a mind of their own.
I can have them gather to eat at the same time.
At the gym, I think I simply need to add more exercise equipment. They tend to scatter a bit.
Yeah, more treadmills.
I should take out weight lifting machines anyway.
I don't want my sims bulking up.
If they scatter, you can always rally in the same location and try something else together.
Vaughn must have been in the shower.
Painting Critiques!
Edgar received a visit from Olivia, who is a highly skilled painter.
It only made sense for them to critique his work together.
Dina Caliente also dropped by and decided she wanted to energize Edgar during their critique.
Not the best timing.
So I had her join the group.
Ordering Drinks.
I had Edgar order up a round of drinks.
Ling and Riya walked away from the bar while the others grabbed drinks.
I found Ling and Riya upstairs munching on chocolate strawberries.
Riya didn't finish her strawberry.
She had to go to the rest room.
I clicked on the microphone out of curiosity and found I could hire a comedian.
Once the comedian was in place, I found I could have them watch as a group.
Finally I can make use of that.
I was surprised they organized themselves so neatly and quickly.
Next time, I will put on a show upstairs in the place designed for it.
I only put the mike downstairs because it looked good next to the piano.
You might have noticed a new sim in my growing collection of Young Adults.
He was inspired by this video: https://youtu.be/h8L-0VR6PP4
I wonder if we have a hat similar to that one.
Edgar Chagall.
He doesn't answer to Ed. It's Edgar!
He's a Creative, Self-assured, Snob.
We don't have a beret, unfortunately.
I sent him out to the art Musuem and Olivia was there.
Also, two members from the Avant Garde are missing too:
The guy in the blue stripped sweater and the girl in the blue hat.
I wonder if they have been culled.
I am feeling a little overwhelmed with Get Together. I want to build, I want to explore the clubs feature, and I want to continue with my sim's normal life. And I have very little time to actually play the game.
Olivia is the first to start a club for social sims.
They visit the discotheque after the cafe.
I think I am going to bulldoze this club.
It looks cool and all, but I feel like I am playing in the bottom of a bucket. Plus I don't really like the layout.
I will stick with my PURE club and update it with Get Together content..
What's with the look, Edgar?
Oh! She's stunning.
I want her for my group of sims.
I am truly sorry, Villareal household.
That 64x64 property that your home used to be on is rare and highly valuable.
I hope you enjoy life in this new location.
Olivia needed their property, in a very Landgraaby way. She has the Mansion Baron aspiration now that she is wealthy.
I am building her a new version of my Edna Mode home from TS3.
Nice view, isn't it?
Your home is designed to take advantage of it.
I have to admit, Windenburg is a much better world.
I never cared for the artstyle that EA used on rocks, but these rocks look much better than those in Oasis Springs.
I couldn't wait to put Olivia in her house.
It isn't finished yet.
I'll work on it as I play.
This may look familiar to some.
This house is based on Edna Mode's house from The Incredibles.
Playing with Get Together--cont.
I haven't explored Windenburg much.
I sent Olivia to check out the area.
We can't pass up these.
There are more on the beach.
The ocean sound is great.
Olivia's fire dancing skills, not so great.
This house is lonely.
Especially lonely due to the size and being so unfinished.
Fast forward.
Not so lonely feeling now.
\
But it still needs friends.
This shot is actually earlier than the one above.
This is great for chatting.
I will need two more seats if I increase the size of the group to eight.
But, I might not need to since a couple of members usually wander off.
Melonie tried out the pool while Edgar went to use the computer.
I had the others play cards.
The other day, Olivia and Melonie where hanging out in the cafe. I had Olivia tell Melonie that she should contact Ling.
I thought it would improve their friendship. It actually went above and beyond friendship.
Melonie tried out the sauna in the pool house... with Ling.
I'm wondering if I clicked on "Hook Up" by mistake, but I don't think so.
Ling seem to want to tell the others.
She came inside right away to talk to them.
They sat next to each other at dinner. Coincidence?
Well they seem to be a couple now. I'll rotate around to check them out later.
The next day, work proceeds on the house.
The interior is about 80% done.
Shhh.... quiet now.
The landscaping is about 25% done. I am very happy with this corner of the property.
I haven't figured out what to do with the rest of the property.
Alexus Pritchard
Olivia lives in this big place all alone, so I like to throw a club gathering now and then.
I was wondering if I could bring over two clubs. I invited over Olivia's Secret and The Gestalt Order.
I let them have the run of the place just to see what they would do.
Autonomous woohoo in the pool house sauna, for starters.
I was surprised to find it was Maaike and Edgar.
Olivia's Secret loves to drink, dance, and socialize.
The Gestalt Order would rather simply listen to the music, view art, and paint.
This isn't a party.
I plan to celebrate Olivia reaching her Mansion Baron aspiration by throwing several party types.
She still needs to spend 100,000 simoleons on this property.
These sims are busy bodies.
They can't sit still for more than a few minutes, but at least they are getting around.
There is a hot tub on the property, but no one bothered with it all.
This will probably be the first sims game where I don't bother much with hot tubs.
I had to give the buffet area a test run.
I didn't expect them to sit at the pool and eat.
That's actually nice.
I probably should have used a simple call to meal command instead of a club command.
The Gestalt Order was left out. They'd rather listen to music I guess.
Since Olivia is in this big house alone, it seemed like a perfect situation for a roommate.
Her name is Alexus Pritchard. I would later find out she has a teenage son. I aged him up and kicked him out. I don't feel bad. He looked virtually the same as a young adult as he did as a teen. I am sure he will get along fine with Johnny Zest. Meanwhile mom will be going back in time with a youth potion.
Alexus will stick with Mixology as a career.
Which is fine with Olivia as she gets to try out all the drinks she has to make.
Olivia received a text message to hangout at the disco that evening.
I sent along a few friends that I wanted her to build stronger relationships.
I miss Ling.
I need to rotate back around to play her.
Look at Bella back there.
Ok, look at you.
Let's not let Bella Goth steal your limelight.
What?
Oh, I think she's tired. She's all tense.
Alright.
It's late. Everyone should go home.
The following morning Olivia had her after breakfast cocktail waiting for her.
Alexus is a level 7 mixologist already.
I believe this is the start of a beautiful friendship.
Olivia's House is now uploaded to my gallery.
It's showing up marked with CC for me, but I took great pains to avoid putting any in it.
Whatever it is, it shouldn't be an issue.
I wish EA would put an asterisk icon on any CC in buy/build mode. Update: They did--little wrenches of all things.
My Origin ID is CK213
The Lot is named House of Mode.
Melonie and Ling
Olivia's accidental hook up of Melonie and Ling really did take me by surprise.
Here is a follow-up of the Melonie/Ling pairing... I think I will call them Meling as their couple name.
I visited Melonie at her home.
She did have some pink in her romance bar with Ling, but they were listed as acquaintances and just friends.
Surprisingly, Riya, one of the other members in the club, also has some romantic interchanges with Melonie.
I haven't played Melonie in a while and she had put on some rotation weight, so I sent her to the gym before looking up Ling.
Ling happened to walk in the gym. Olivia was there as well.
Ling stood back and chatted with Olivia as she danced.
I had Mel' encourage Ling to work out.
As they chatted, I saw the option to have them exchange phone numbers.
That's cute.
Ling did the same.
And then the flirtations began.
Olivia walked over with perfect timing.
I guess a club gathering was called on the spot.
Riya is back there in the background.
I wonder how she feels about this.
"Oh, I am so happy for you two."
And then this guy intrudes in this perfect social scenario.
And... I think I need to sort through my CC makeup.
Anyway, he's the gym trainer and proceeds to train Ling.
Melonie can't get her flirt on.
Yeah, I know.
I had to disrupt him and perhaps he can take a hint.
Enough, just go away, sir.
I was finally able to get her off the treadmill.
Yeah, you take a time out in that corner.
So the girls can...
Yeah, that.
Melonie then had an option to be best friends with Olivia.
And now "Meling" are hanging out at the Hare and Hedgehog.
After checking up on Melonie and Ling, I wanted to get Michelle (remember her?) into the Renegades. That turned out to be a little problematic. I don't have pictures, but Michelle had to pee really badly, but the Renegades had broken all the toilets as well as other objects. I just had her return home. Well that got on my nerves because I hate broken objects in this game. It happens on its own too much. I don't need a club going around breaking things.
So I knew one of the Renegades, Ulrike Faust.
I had Ulrike ask the leader of the Renegades to step down so she could take his place.
Her first action as leader was to kick him out.
Sorry kid, but you are really working my suspension of disbelief.
Go join that kiddy club.
Now to change that activity of sabotaging objects, and she will also invite Michelle to join the club.
"And... I think I need to sort through my CC makeup" Laughed so hard at that and then even harder when he put himself in time out. Going to snag your build now. Looks truly beautiful. I was gifted Get Together for Christmas. Going to dig into it today and hopefully will see a few more quirky Sim moments with this new addition.

Yeah, I have some CC lipstick that loves to put itself on men.
I am really enjoying that house. I threw my first party, but forgot to turn off party goals.
Merry Christmas.

The next day, work proceeds on the house.
The interior is about 80% done.
Shhh.... quiet now.
The landscaping is about 25% done. I am very happy with this corner of the property.
I haven't figured out what to do with the rest of the property.
I hope we have some epic pool parties.
@Nicwebb82
It's almost done.
I am slowly working on it as I play.
I will upload it when it's complete.

@Prettyweed870
Hi!
Yeah, I have some CC lipstick that loves to put itself on men.
I am really enjoying that house. I threw my first party, but forgot to turn off party goals.
Merry Christmas.
