    Display Driver stopped responding?

    I just reinstalled The Sims 3 Base game and Pets ep through Origin. I have no mods and only 6 cc parts in my packages folder.

    I play for *maybe* 5 minutes and then it crashes and a bubble pops up repeatedly that says "display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered" then my laptop freezes and I have to manually restart it.

    I have a HP Pavilion g6 laptop. I was able to play the game for over an hour yesterday and now it wont let me play for even 5 minutes. I haven't changed anything since then, either.

    I have had all of the EPs with a bunch of CC and mods on my laptop before and never had a problem like this. I thought deleting everything and starting new would make it run better. Apparently not. :lol:

    Could anyone help me out?

    EDIT: my Display drive is Intel(R) HD Graphics Current Driver Installed 8.15.10.2279 and when I try to update it, it says that it is already up to date.

      I have been looking at other people in the forums who have had the same problem as me and it says most likely it is the video chipset because the dedicated memory is only 64mb but that doesn't explain how I have been playing the sims for years on this laptop and have never experienced a problem until I uninstalled and then re installed the game :(

      Just realized I still had some sims 2 games installed. Thought I did that already. Fever must be getting to me, lol. (chicken pox :( )
      Uninstalling that now, hopefully that helps.

      So far I am not getting that error anymore. However - everytime I try to save the game, my laptop shuts itself down. When I turn it back on the game is still running and then finishes saving.

      As you probably know, system specifications do call for a video device equipped with at least 128MB of dedicated VRAM. Since your Intel IGP does not meet that requirement, the game will perform quite poorly or even not at all. The performance hit will only increase when installing additional game updates or game expansions - Pets, Seasons, and Island Paradise are especially demanding on the graphics hardware. You may wish to consider uninstalling the Pets expansion pack to reduce overhead on your Intel IGP.

      You mentioned trying to update your Intel video drivers - have you checked the Hewlett-Packard website for drivers made for your specific laptop model? You can also contact HP support staff and have them walk you through with locating and installing the appropriate drivers.       I have this same problem in The Sims 4. Display Driver stopped responding 3 times within these past 24 hours. I have plenty of Video RAM, but I can only run the game on low settings. And I run the game in windowed mode, in case the screen freezes due to the display driver stops responding.
      All my drivers are up to date, and I rarely get this problem. The most commond thing that happens, is that my game's fps starts to have spikes and lag to the point where it'll crash, but the display driver doesn't stop responding those times.

      Your in the wrong forum for the sims 4 . The sims 4 has a vsync option in game settings. You should also turn off origin in game. see if any of that helps

      what kind of video card do you have? Nvidia or amd and what is the number of the card
