Are origin downloaded expansions compatible with a disc base game?

Hi all!

I do hope I'm posting this in the correct place, but if not I'm sorry :oops: .

I bought sims 3 supernatural ages ago and I really enjoyed playing it. Not too long ago I had to reinstall my computer and install all my sims 3 games again. But I lost the sims 3 supernatural disc somewhere (I still have the serial code from when I bought it, written down in a book.) I was wondering, as I've heard that you can download expansion packs via Origin (as long as you have the code, I'm assuming.) Are downloaded expansions compatible with a disc-bought base game? I hope this makes sense. I hope it does work as I really miss playing supernatural. Thank you for reading this.

Yes you can install any game that you have registered on Origin. I have all of my EP's and SP's as disc form. When I brought IFT, I installed it by the disc but then uninstalled it to install from the Origin site so I can save my disc from getting scratched up and all. So yes you can download an EP/SP even though the base game was installed by disc.

Yes they are compatable. You don't need to put in the code you already have beforehand because it will install through Origins own installer without you having to do anything. I know this because I have Fastlane and Town Life stuff packs PLUS Island Paradise Expansion Pack bout through the client and they work perfectly since the rest of the EP, SP, and the base game are all disc based.
