Now and Then Century Manor and Amore builds - please post your pics (and links)

KarritzKarritz Posts: 21,908 Member
I thought I'd start another one of these threads to see what happens.

This thread is for you to show us your builds where you used some or all of the 40 build\buy objects that came with the 'Now and Then Century Manor' venue.

I thought some of the items from the final store release (Amore) might go well with the Now & Then Century Manor build items. So if you build something that uses anything from either of those two store releases - please add them to this thread.

Feel free to add you build to more than one of these threads. We already have bakeries that are also roller coasters.

Here are the links to the bakery and roller coaster build threads.

Thanks. I just thought I'd keep the ball rolling on the build threads since they seem to have been useful and are cross referenced.

I just downloaded the new set and haven't had time to look at it yet other than a quick look through the two manors.

I don't really want to do anything much with them. I am more interested in building something new that use the new items that came with the venues.

Mostly I buy this stuff so I can then get the cool stuff other people build! LOL But I do love to decorate!

You know a funny thing - I was looking at my iPhone at work yesterday and thinking the same thing.

EDIT: Meanwhile, I've started building a bakery in Midnight Hollow. Now I know how to make tombstones with ghosts in them I'm feeling spookily creative. I will try to make good use of this new set.

    Spooky Bakery WIP

I am in the middle of decorating this bakery and have already added a few items from the new set. I walked away from my computer for a few minutes and returned to find I had some spectoral visitors. The Salas family were having a look.

I put a temporary fence all around it to keep other visitors out. If anyone gets in I can just Reset * and they go home:)

    Play testing now...

Tester sim fishing in the pond. There is a fog emitter emitting fireflies near the front of the lot. All five graves have ghosts.

YAY so glad you opened this thread. I want to make my own build too with the items...but I'm in the middle of my old wild west town LOL I may use the stained glass windows in my old church....but hmmmm IDK...I was thinking "under my old town" I may create an old style abandoned mine using some of the boarded up windows and run down stuff. Make it an entrance with only steps leading to the "basement" where your sim would find the "mine cart" aka roller coaster, that would take you for a ride in the creepy dark....erm...mine... so that is where I"m at may post that venue here if it's ok cuz I will use some parts from this set....but it's not going to be a mansion per say is that ok Karritz?

BTW...I"m loving your MH bakery ....looks very fun so far.

OH and how do you make a tombstone with a ghost? :?:

Yes. You can post anything here that uses at least some of the 40 things we got with that venue.

I just put the whole venue name in the subject - but I suspect I could have been more creative and shortened it a bit.

And if you use roller coaster items as well, then you can add it to the roller coaster thread as well.

Some people started doing that with the bakery and roller coaster threads already.

I'll be putting my bakery in the bakery thread too when I've finished it. But I'm going to have a little break now for a while. I need one.

Must start playing with my new toys. Gonna move the now mansion to the future and let my Plumbot Ghost live there.
I never realised plumbots could become fully functional plumbot Ghosts until a little accident happened while inventing.
If you like the idea of having a Ghostly hightech servant download my toxic looking Plumbot "Nummer Sju" swedish for "Number Seven".

    Relaxing!

Thanks I'm happy you like the way my spectral bakery is progressing.

I learned the trick with the ghostly tombstones when I did the Zoo U course on Tombs And traps. Hint: you need Ambitions and World Adventures to do it.

This was my question too. I just uploaded a house to the exchange today which uses a fair number of the items from this set, but it's definitely not a mansion, just a family farmhouse.

Love your creepy bakery, Karritz!

    C&P'ed from another thread:

Hi everybody I decided to post this on the store thread because I used so many of the new items from the Now & Then Century Manor venue/set. I'm not really a mansion kind of girl, but I am still really happy with this set. Finally I can have my screened in porches! In this build I used the fan, recolorable glass door, colonial window and shutters (love!), curtains, grandfather clock, and screened windows and door. I've been working on this house off and on for about a week, just waiting for the set to be released. I finished it today, and well, here it is.

I also posted this build on my creations thread here: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/749786.page

The Banning Court House is a 3 BR 2 BA home which features a large inviting front porch, master bedroom suite, kids room with bunk beds, guest room, eat in kitchen with large dining area, screened side porch and great room with fireplace. All appliances have been upgraded to unbreakable or fireproof. As always, no stuff pack items or CC and checked with Custard.

I can imagine some real unique storylines with this - want want want  Thanks for sharing your pic's, guys :)

    Spectral Bakery

Lot Type: Hangout - fully upgraded
    Lot Size: 30x20
    Cost: 215,184
    Exchange Link: http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=8197212

The bakery is on the ground floor. It has a kitchen and toilet facilities as well as a dining room.

Access to the attic living quarters is by a ladder in the kitchen.

Kitchen and behind the counter are blocked from access to all but the current family.

Barrier to Entry system. You will need to set this for your own family. Just click on each of the two barrier to entry doors and set the locks to allow only your family. Or else make the locks do whatever else you want them to do. There is no ticket machine on the lot so you will have to add one if you want to use the ticketing system.

There are 5 graves in the garden plus a few extra tombstones. The ghosts will come out and haunt the bakery. They eat and posses things.

The garden has a small pond and I added 2 fish spawners to it. There are also 4 fog emitters in the garden for butterflies, fireflies, fog and moths.

There is a partly decorated basement for you to have some fun finding and decorating.

    Have fun:)

Thank you Donna. Unfortunately it remains hidden from view on the Exchange. I suspect it won't be there for long.

Your house looks happy and sunny.

Our two builds make quite a contrast for this thread.

I think this will be a very interesting thread if people continue to post in it.

Vampirelucia I hope you put your finished build here when you're ready.
