Sims 3 Generations crashing during install after a patch failure

It started with a patch failure (1.52 to the latest I think, for sure it was 1.5x).
Then when it suggested I reinstall the game, I started going back to uninstalling all of the expansions.. but the trouble was the uninstallers all error'd out and said to remove the entry from the Add/Remove Programs list.
So.. I remove them all and remove all the Sims 3 folders from C:\Program Files\Origin Games\, then I try to reinstall them.. trouble here I had was after patching the basegame up, I kept getting an error telling me "Error during startup, see Log for details" (With no explanation where the dang log is).
So I figure.. why not install basegame, then expansions, THEN patch it up? The games install great.. at least until Generations, when it installs, not just the installer, but ORIGIN ENTIRELY crashes.
I can't seem to find a fix for my issue.
Can someone please tell me what might be causing this? Perhaps share a fix?
