    Can you believe it? Flash Mob is entering it's 3rd year. Are you ready for 2014? Who will be our new honorees?


    Due to the fact that some simmers cannot host because of rl schedules, we are doing something a little different this year.

    If you have time constraints but would like to host, please list 3 months that you are available, with the first month being the one you most prefer, then 2 additional.







    History:

    In January 2012, Immskayleah came up with a plan to wanted to take out a GG member's wish list. Her reason behind it was simple. This person was/is a very active member of the simming community, selflessly giving of their time and friendship to many on the forums. After coming up with this plan Immskayleah asked Goddess0676sm (our previous facilitator) if she would be willing to assist her in recruiting the community to help take down this member's massive WL. I had the good fortune to be in on this huge event. We were successful in forming a mob of gifter's and took that GG member's WL down to practically nothing. They didn't know what hit them. **

    During the week of plotting the endeavor took on a life of its own. It was decided by many that this was a something worthy of a monthly event, and thus the Flash Mob was born.

    In February, 2013, when Goddess0676sm reluctantly decided to step down as our facilitator, she asked me to take over. It is my pleasure and honor to be able to serve our community in this capacity and keep a tradition alive.

    A big thanks goes out to Pnoles for giving our beloved event its name.


    Lottery Guidelines

    • Potential hosts will still need to sign up each month using this thread. Your name will not be carried over into the next lottery.
    • Lottery sign up's will take place from the 9th to the 12th of every month.
    • Two new hosts will be chosen by a randomizer on the 12th, and their names will be announced in this thread.
    • The hosts will then get together and decide on a target and post a separate Flash Mob thread for the month. If the hosts can't decide on a target, there is now a panel that will help choose the honoree.
    • I will post the link to the new Flash Mob thread here to make it easy for the community to find and join the mob.
    • I will make myself available as a resource if hosts need help in any part of this process, but the flash mob is still a community event and will always belong to the simming community.
    • I have set up a permanent email for communication with me about the flash mob that the hosts or members of the mob can utilize. FlourFairy2u@yahoo.com


    Flash Mob Rules:

    1. The purpose of the flash mob is to honor a member of community who has shown great kindness and generosity to their fellow simmers. An ideal candidate is helpful and active in the forums as a whole, and does not need to be limited to the GG forum. This should be a person who has limited access to, or limited availability to buy SimPoints as that was immskayleah's original intent.

    2. All gifts are allowed. This includes items from the store, in-game gifts, custom creations (sims, homes, community lots, and recolor's), stories and poems. Personal messages to the honoree the day of are also encouraged.

    3. The Flash Mob will convene on the 8th of every month, at 8:00 P.M. in your local time zone. This will provide a full day of gifting for the honoree and allow everyone in the community to participate.

    4. There will be 2 hosts every month. This allows for the demands of RL, and more communication with the community on the event.

    5. Once you have been a host, you must wait a full 6 months before you can throw your name into the lottery again. The only exception is if interest in hosting is down, then previous hosts can step in to keep the "Mob" in session.

    6. It is the job of the hosts to work together to create a new thread for the month titled *Month* Flash Mob Gifters. This will allow the community to always find the thread and get involved. It is important to keep this thread active and visible to ensure a successful mob turnout.

    7. The hosts will work together to choose an appropriate target. Be prepared to share this info with anyone who would like to participate in the gifting. A temporary email works nicely, but the manner in which you get this information to participants is up to you. Just remember to keep it a secret.

    8. On the 8th day of the month the hosts will oversee the Flash Mob thread and provide any necessary assistance to the mob.

    9. And the most important rule is for everyone to have fun together as a community!

      Thank you but this is not just about being able to gift.

      Your post count says that, for a newbie, you are pretty active. I've seen your posts on the forum too. :-) Being helpful like, to throw out a name, Rosemow, who always has something really nice to say about others and their creations, being positive and generally nice can also get you on this list.

      As for hosting, you don't need simpoints. Gifts come in many forms. A home-made gift is well appreciated. A nice word, poem, gifs, pictures or story can be a gift. Stick around for a while and see how we operate. :wink:

      Hi,

      I have been put on new meds and they are playing havoc with me at the mo so I can not sign up for this month as I wanted too!!

      However I would love to put my name in for

      February hosting

      As I know I will not be doing much as I will not be going fishing with my husband, also by then my meds should of been in my system long enough to have settled down

      I put you down for possible hosting for those months.

      Yes, the hosts do pick the honoree, however, the honoree has to pass the mustard, so to speak. I send you a guide on how honorees are chosen, when you are chosen to host.

      If you and your partner can't reach a decision, it goes to our rotating panel for a vote or you can choose from a list of potentials that was compiled from different simmers around the forum.
