I updated the game and CAW and CAW is not working for me. Tried a few trouble shooting things and none of it has worked so far. The hunt for the problem continues.
Ya, I can't believe they updated so quickly. I can't remember, but we usually don't need an update for a stuff pack do we? It's usually just EP's I was thinking.
Edit: Ah, I see now:

I´ve downloaded the new patch and it is working fine, but I can´t get the description in my messages so, can anyone please coppy it here for me and all simmers who can´t get it?
thankyou very much
I can play at last TS2 TS3 and TS4 So great that toddlers are here!!!
Yes, I have to run it that since UL too so that is how I run CAW. And no, it does not work.
Fixed. I had to re..re...re..download then I thought "OH, yeah." For some reason CAW does not like the fact that I use Firefox as my browser. So I switched to Chrome, redownloaded and like magic it is working. I knew it had to be something on my end.
Actually my friend, I wonder about that. Graham in his tutorial on houseboats in CAW, says there should never be any reason to unpause in CAW. I think they made it unpausable (is that even a word?) on purpose. x.X
Edit from Graham referring to EIG:
"16) Wait for the game to load.
17) Once in-game, do not unpause. There should be no need to unpause at any point when editing a custom world. "
Just re-download CAW which is the updated version, but uninstall the old one first. Before you uninstall the old one, make sure to back up your work. (UserToolData Folder)

That's why I think it's by design. =(
I've been thinking the same thing.
As far as I'm aware, you need to unpause to populate your world, yes?
They obviously blocked populations in CAW in the first place for a reason, probably to stop our worlds from competing with their's. So imagine they wouldn't have been too happy when people came up with mods to do it. Maybe breaking the pause feature was an attempt to cripple those mods?
I hope it's not, and that's it's just a bug they haven't fixed yet, but I don't know :?
They might not think of any reasons for US to unpause EIG but there is one big one that would really help- Checking bridges.
For some reason my bridges messed up and it took me over a week of going backwards through my saves to find one where Both bridge setups worked.
1. Place bridges
2. routing and all that
3. open EIG..
4. makeSim
5. Test bridge
6. exit EIG and fix if needed
7. to fix repeat 1-6
On pause....
1. place bridge/s
2. routing and all that
3. package world
4. install world
5. start game
6. open world
7. test bridge
8. turn off game
9. uninstall world
10. delete old worlds
11. clear cache files
12. open CAW and fix (if needed)
13... test fixes repeat 1-12
I don't think we need it unpaused to add Sims. It's good to unpause for them to be moved or added to different houses- without going to Edit Town. But, I'm sure it's doable still.

Was there an update?
Good to know, thanks!

Very thoughtful of EA to think of us builder

I am not getting anything that hasn't happened before. The splash screen shows up then CAW drops without loading.
It seems I am the only one so it has to be something on my end. Now that I have a cup of coffee behind me I am off to troubleshoot.

Hee hee! Can't say I blame you Crin!
That's interesting about firfox. That's my main browser, and I've never had a problem. Although, I've heard others who have the same problem.
