Welcome to my exploration of the Island Paradise expansion pack. This will be more of a Let's Play than a story, but I can never be sure if a story plot will kick off when it comes to these things. I am starting Island Paradise late, but I am enjoying this EP so far.
How I post:
I like to put the description text above the picture it describes.
I am more than a week behind on Island Paradise. I've been busy with University Life.
I grabbed a random townie (The Siren) to explore it.
Windsurfing is cool, but I couldn't get into this townie.
So I imported Melonie to Isla Paradiso. I bought her a house boat so she could explore the seas.
I moved her to a new dock, just to try it out.
No thanks, I think I need a break from University right now.
"Toot! Toot!"
That's cute.
The houseboat set her back some Simoleons. She only had $600 Simoleons left.
Jackpot!
3000 will do for now.
She can splurge on a nice meal.
I think I like the houseboat lifestyle.
I deleted Isal Paradiso's community garden and put in my greenhouse.
Melonie grabbed a few bananas to keep as quick snacks.
I was considering having her live off the land and the ocean, but I think I will do my regular routine.
I gave her a job to makeover townies.
It's flexible enough to take off and do whatever she wants. Er...I want. :P
I added some details to her boat.
Now to work on that snorkeling skill.
She could live closer to work.
This is a great feature. Just move your house closer to your job.
"Toot! Toot!"
There we are, a new port to call home.
There is still so much to do.
But first, I want to test out some things in Sunset Valley.
Starting with trying my hand at making a custom boat.
I copied some Isla Paradiso's dock and dive lots. I put in the docks. I haven't tried the dive lots yet.
I have an issue with a dock on the east side beach. (Not this one) Boats can't travel from there to the large beach of Sunset Valley. I don't think routing allows it. I had to teleport the boat. I have to test it further.
I enjoy watching Melonie windsurf.
But her main hobby is scuba diving.
She is taking off work early to go scuba diving. Fortunately the stylist profession is very flexible.
That creature chased her out of there.
Not so fast.
Oh, that's got to be terrifying.
It was.
I think she has had enough for the day.
Nice boat. She should get one of those.
She is going to stock pile her Simoleons for now.
She was actually overtaken by that other AQUA SLED.
She stopped by a beach on the way home to skip stones...
....relax...
...and work on her handiness skill.
She was back at scuba diving the next day. Her skill is improving.
She had an option to communicate with one of the other divers.
Another day and Melonie is skilled enough to dive at other dive lots.
I was hoping she could sift through those for any collectables. Nope, just clutter.
She can cave explore while working on improving her diving skill.
Meanwhile, sharks are gathering outside.
They don't seem interested in the townies, but then again there would be a lot of dead townies if they were. I wonder if that would change if the population begins to soar.
I have no interest in her becoming fish food, so she is out of there.
Love the AQUA SLED!
Melonie is clearly more interested in diving than she is making over townies.
Finally a mermaid sighting, Melonie didn't stop to interact with her.
She let her go about her business.
She was interested in the treasure chests around here.
No good, she doesn't have the skill to open that one.
She can open this one.
This is a good days work.
It feels good to have some Simoleons in the bank.
She checked herself into a nice resort to celebrate.
I was surprised the concierge responded so quickly this late.
She dined on some Dim Sum.
A nightcap before bed would be nice.
"Burning the midnight oil, ma'am?"
"I run on Nitrous and I need refueling."
"I have just the thing."
That's tasty.
She's sleeping in one of the VIP rooms.
Looks cozy, but the stay didn't last long.
She was reset from the resort by the Overwatch mod I believe. I have an IP version, but several new version had come and I need to update. If it wasn't Overwatch than it might have been EA's reset mechanism.
She's not life guarding. She just wanted to sit in the chair.
She was back at diving when she freaked over a shark.
I never saw one, but apparently her bladder did.
A message in a bottle. She has to collect that before leaving.
Melonie wanted to visit the festival park and she was also hungry. She could do with some land activity.
Back at home, she was being robbed.
I neglected to install a burglar alarm on her houseboat.
I have to admit it was cool watching the burglar speed off to the criminal hideout.
You are a true pirate.
Time to get serious.
About scuba diving, it's more interesting than making over townies. She quit her stylist job and registered as a scuba diver.
She now determines her work schedule.
Diving is her passion.
"Here, Squiddy Squiddy."
"Slow down you...ooh!"
"Treasure!"
It won't budge.
Perhaps she can find some good collectables in there.
She got a shell, but there is more here.
"Good find!"
And the first serious shark threat she's had here. She still has enough air for a cave exploration.
Double danger.
She earned her rewards today. It is time to go home.
Bless it but those scuba diving pics are fantastic! I'm going to have to get Evan over his fear of the ocean...when he figures out how to get to the mainland. He's enjoying his spartan stay on Plumbob Island for the moment.
Keepin an eye on this thread, already learned a thing or two. 8)
Yay! Glad to see a new story from you! Bookmarking.

It started out as: Let's sample IP while I finish my sims in Uni.
As I played it I got so into playing with Melonie and her new toys. I love the watercraft in this EP.
I thought these wild horses just hung out here, but I think they're trapped.
Fixed.
And across the street....come on, there isn't even anything there.
I replaced the default consignment store with my Simscura Le Cirque consignment store. The Place seems to want mermaids working there.
Kinda cool, given the nature of the place, but I would rather have Mers swimming about the ocean.
Melonie introduced herself to Maya Ocean.
The Skylight Studio for the Performing Arts dance studio has been placed in Isla Paradiso. Melonie learned how to club dance there.
She should be cutting those stacks of gem stones. Get to work.
In an effort to reduce lag, I took the advice to unlock all the fog shrouded islands.
I had already reduced lag by other means, but I figured why not go all out.
The one titled Mermaids Secret caught my imagination. That sounds like there should be some interesting things there.
So I made it a No Visitors community lot and put some "cheaty" Store items there.
The Wishing Well and the Lunar Lake crystal skill trees are there. I forgot about the Fountain of Youth, but I think I will put it on another uncharted island.
I had Melonie give it a try.
Nothing, but I wasn't about to let her walkaway empty handed. This was a long trip to get out here. Try again.
"What? Car keys?"
Keys to a very expensive car. I really didn't expect that. I thought maybe a thousand Simoleons or so.
This changes things. Time for new plans.
Let's build some random skills too.
"I know Simfu!"
It's time to go home and figure out what to do with all this cash.
The car is sold of course. I'm not a fan of the Margaret Vaguester.
Upgrade Melonie's houseboat? It's cozy, but Melonie is pursuing a more scientific approach to her aquatic career. She'll need some really cool vehicles and equipment.
And it is being constructed as she walks up to her old home.
Well look at that. Her new ship is complete.
Time to move.
I will admit the old place was cozy and homey, but I am liking the boat.
There is still more to do to make the place a little warmer, but I'll do that as we use it.
Bedrooms are on the lower level.
She will upgrade to a foghorn later.
"Toot! Toot!"
We are on our way to a new port.
Her destination is a port closer to the latest dive lot. That will be her new base of operations.
I think I'm going to love this ship.
Love it.
Still lovin' it.
Wow, that's pretty.
Back it in.
We are docked.
Now she can test to see if our little invented boom allows her to get her new Skimatron speedboat down from there.
Perfect! This is great.
Let's go for a dive.
She is still raiding treasure chests. Our new plan is to max out her scuba diving skill and climb up the career ladder. She will then take all the money she's made/won and invest it all in a resort.
Shark!
We have done enough for today. It's time to go home.
Going around to the left side results in odd pathing when going to to land. That's the edge of the lot.
It's starting to feel a bit lonely here.
She hasn't wished for any love relationships and I'm not really interested in pursuing one, but she could take on a friend/roommate to add some life around here. Melonie has had plenty of love relationships in past incarnations anyway.
Her aquatic science lab.
This is the Communication Station from University Life. I'm using it mainly because it looks like a communications aerial.
She can also us it for her charisma skill.
She has her telescope for raising her logic skill.
Melonie upgraded her new boat with a foghorn the next day.
Her social was low, so I thought it would be a good time to invite over a friend. She hadn't got to know any mermaids well. I invited over Maya Ocean. I didn't expect for her to blow that conch shell to call her.
The response time was also surprising.
I like the design of the female tail flipper.
I like the blue and white color scheme. It matches the boat.
Dancing is one of Melonie's favorite activities.
I had her meet a mermaid with the intent of eventually becoming one.
But I have a mermaid right here. Why not just ask her to move in?
The sleeping quarters are downstairs.
I could steal some space from the master bedroom, but I think I'll leave it this way.
Sorry, I couldn't help making over Maya. I also gave her a slight chest reduction.
Maya is hungry and has no kelp, so she is fishing for her breakfast.
Loves to dance.
Loves to fish. I have never had a sim master fishing. This is the first time I've seen this animation.
Mermaids must go through a lot of fish. That one hardly filled her up. She needs to stock up on kelp.
Let's go diving.
I believe I have finally found the right sim for this hair. I've wanted to use it, but it never seemed right for anyone.
To the depths!
I do believe that's kelp. Clicking on the other kelp-like objects yielded nothing.
Yeah, but there has to be more than this down here.
Maya makes for a pretty mermaid.
If I have or edit anymore mermaids, I'll add their scale colors to their hair color.
I'm glad she can eat kelp underwater. It makes sense of course, but I'm glad that little detail is there.
I am seeing more kelp, now that I know what it looks like.
There is a seashell for Melonie to collect.
She needs all the shells and fish she can get. Her quota rises as she climbs the scuba diving career ladder.
Get it!
That should do it for Maya's kelp supply.
It's time to split up.
Maya can continue collecting out here.
Now there is something for the fishtank.
"Where's Nemo?"
"Nemo is the least of your worries, clown fish."
Cool! More bounty. (the 'ooty word was censored)
Melonie could really use that.
A mermaid partner is coming in very handy.
That's enough for today.
Merfolk sign language.
That says shark to me.
I don't see any, but it's time to go anyway.
Great work!
Melonie is very pleased.
Sending the boat to this side of the dock makes the boat dock to that mooring. I like that.
Great! That frees up the trailer for the Aqua Sled.
I should move the scooter. It doesn't make much sense there.
May has a fishy gift Melonie.
"Thank you. I can always use more specimens."
I really like this set up.
I like the scooter here.
May had a wish to discover a new potion and Melonie has plenty of diamonds to process.
That is looking glitchy.
She is only up to Plumb bob cuts for now.
Melonie has wishes to upgrade objects and plenty of objects to upgrade.
Potion failure.
I'll have her wash it off in the ocean.
I like the transition to mermaid. It's quick and simple.
Munch away.
In goes the clown fish.
"Where's Nemo?"
"Shut up."
I also LOVE how you used that sculpture thing from showtime on the top! I've been wanting to add a boat trailer to my house boat, but kept thinking, "this doesn't look right! It would be impossible to get the boat down from there!", but that sculpture looks like it could be like a pully thing to raise/lower the boat from the houseboat! I am totally stealing this idea! After seeing this, I'm hoping someone makes a CC "boat lift" to make it look even better. You're so creative! I would have never thought of that!

I was wondering last night if you'd do one of these threads. I love her new boat. xD
I love BTS and Ariana Grande.
"Shut up."
That cracks me up
Love your boat btw.
Ha! Not this time, burglar, you are busted.
Don't expect Melonie to tackle the burglar. She is not brave at all, despite spelunking in tentacled underwater caves.
The officer will do it. I was expecting a police boat. :P
Haul her away.
She's laughing now.
The situation was a little different in another life.
Good. Melonie lucked up with a super cop.
The houseboat is completely decorated now. I guess the burglar could not resist.
"You are awesome, officer."
"I know."
Wait a minute. Where is the burglar going?
Don't just stand there. Catch her.
She had better not escape to the criminal hideout.
Ooh, a police chase. Hot pursuit.
Really? She's just going up the hill so she can be carted off to jail?"
Yep.
Oh my gosh, now the police officer is going all the way back to Melonie's houseboat.
Just wait right there with no handcuffs.
If you were truly evil, you would be halfway home by now.
Melonie likes to look out of windows.
Don't wait for the officer, go to bed.
Well, at least she is doing her job.
She's awesome and she knows it.
It's in her walk.
That is a serious honor code between the police and burglars.
I guess there is another one for when they let the burglar get away. :P
Pretty view. :-)
