Sims2 Double Deluxe and seasons

I know this isnt sims 3 related but I wondered if any one can help.

I purchesd the digital download of the sims 2 double deluxe and seasons from Origin yesterday. I ran the double deluxe without the seasons and all was well. But as soon as I added the seasons expansion it all stoped working.
If I click on the Double deluxe icon the game launcher pops up as normal but when you press play I get this message
runtime error
program files\eagames\thesims2seasons\tsbin\sims2ep5.exe
this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unususual way
please contact support team.

Then if I press the seasons icon I get a box to put in your ea account details, which I do and it comes up with the sims 2 ep5 has stopped working and the usual check on line for solution or close program.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no joy.
I am running windows vista and my pc will run sims 3 with no problems.
Can anybody help?

I can only think of a couple suggestions for you to try. One, go here http://thesims2.ea.com/update/index.php and see if maybe a patch will help. Two, go into your Sims 2 file and delete cache files. Three, add the game as an exception to your firewall exceptions.

I recently was having a problem with the digital version of Seasons. I think the problem was that Sims 2 communicates with the internet differently than Sims 3, and my computer was blocking the connection, which prevented the game from accessing certain files needed to run. When you go to start the game, try right-clicking the icon and selecting "Run as Administrator".
