My Top Ten Sim Experiences of All Time
I have had so much fun with this game and most of it is documented here.
After 2011, I began compiling top simming experiences for the year. Now I feel like I can compile my top Ten experiences for The Sims 3's entire run.
Sooo...
here we go!
#10 Izzy and New Sunset Valley
I created a sim that I liked in CAS and decided to use her as a Stylist to make over the majority of Sims in my makeover of Sunset Valley. I liked her so much, I tried to hook her up with avatar-me, but other sims in the town seemed to want to keep that from happening. There were other fish in the sea and avatar-me said goodbye to Izzy and hello to Velma.
#9 Lunar Lakes Appaloosa Plains Aliens
I never played the Lunar Lakes world. I took the objects and brought fake aliens to Appaloosa Plains. Along with my aliens came the military industrial complex to exploit the technology of a crashed alien ship in Appaloosa Plains. It was fun even it they didn't have aliens powers. However, I can now go back and make real alien versions. Wow, I should go back and play this scenario again. I didn't have Seasons and Into the Future at the time.
#8 Cairo the Lothario
I was bored. Drama was the solution. I sent Cario off to Bridgeport to see how bad he could be. I had him juggle as many relationships that I could handle and even after sims broke up with him, I had him win them back. I played until I couldn't take it anymore and I actually felt sorry for the girlfriend that was living with him.
#7 Seasons
It's so nice to see a seasonal changes in the environment. Add the festivals, holidays and parties, and I find myself enjoying the game more. Pool parties are certainly better and I really like seeing homes covered in snow and Christmas lights. It's also cool that aliens have special powers. I had a trial run at it with Jamie Jolina and Christopher Steel.
#6 Into The Future with Yuri and Zane
I had so much fun with this household of sims with Supernatural. Into the Future was my last chance to bring them back in an EP story. It made sense since Yuri dabbled with Time Travel in the Supernatural story. Sadly I never finished playing out their story, so they can't be my number 1, but It was great to have them back for another sim scenario.
#5 Firenze Generations
I used avatar me (Cairo Firenze) and Velma to explore Generations. I had a great time playing them and making up a story to go with them. I loved the new Sunset Valley and these sims made it all fun.
#4 Melonie in Paradise
Melonie Bloom is one of my favorite Sims. She has been around since the Base Game. She had a cameo appearance in my Faery in the City story as Blodwen, the red fairy, but she got the starring role when it came to playing Island Paradise. I enjoyed playing her and her mermaid sidekick, Maya Ocean. Melonie had a career in Scuba Diving, piloting her own ocean science vessel. She eventually went on to own and run a resort hotel.
#3 The Bachelor Challenge
This started off as A Playboy Challenge, inspired by my new Amore Mansion.
I of course recruited Cairo to test it out.
But after playing for a while, I changed it to be more of a Bachelor Reality show.
The bachelor has a desire for fine things in life. Expensive cars, the best nectars, a large beautiful home, and interesting and beautiful women. He has none of that now, but wants to bring it all together and settle down to enjoy it all.
He works at his nectar making skills at a local greenhouse/ nectary.
He's also a gambler.
There are several potential life partners for him.
He will eventually earn this farm by rebuilding classic cars, nectar making, and gambling. The bachorlorettes move in to help him earn Amore Mansion, but only one will get to live there with him.
Each girl is unique and brings specific talents to the challenge.
They eventually earn the money for Amore Mansion.
But they still have to furnish it.
I did take time out to send the girls to University. The next time I play, I believe I will have them discovered at Uni.
They have tons of nectar fruit and continue nectar making at the mansion. It's going to be a generational family business after this challenge is done.
But the endgame begins once the mansion is furnished.
I have a complex scoring system that will ultimately choose the best girl for the bachelor.
There are several activities in the endgame. The bachelor starts a social life and attends and throws parties. One metric is how well each girl knows his friends. Each girl also goes on a date, and there is finally a beauty contest judged by simmers in The Sims forums.
They were great girls and this was the most fun simming I have had since my Supernatural story, but there can only be one.
#2 Vael Firenze's University Experience
Yet another sim family that I had a great time with while exploring a new EP. My avatar sim married a CAS sim. Vael was their first child. She grew up in Generations and I got to play her to Young Adult with University. She didn't go it alone. Her Best Friend Forever--Rebecca French-Spence, her high school sweetheart--Amir Wellington, and her Frienemy--Corrine Frio, also joined her at Uni.
#1 Supernatural: Faery in the City
This is number one because of my sims and the story scenario I played out. A story always immerses me into the game. Oh yeah, Supernatural had a lot to do with it as well. A faery mysteriously finds herself in Bridgeport where she proceeds to carve out a life for herself, acquiring companions along the way to help build and share her dream--but who is she really?
You should definitely look into giving Lunar Lakes another go, now that you likely have Into the Future and all the futuristic store content. I have a lengthy project going on there where im rebuilding all of the University world connected to Lunar Lakes to be many centuries in the future, along with a heavily updated base world. Plenty of potential there to be unlocked. Afterall, gotta try every world at some point!
Rebuilding Sims 2 inside Sims 3 one lot and sim at a time.

I'll have to put that on the list.
I have so much TS3 content to explore, as well as sandbox game play ideas, that I should have enough to keep me busy until The Sims 5.

@CK213 I'm really glad to hear that. I've been following your thread, and when you posted your all-time moments, while I loved it, I also worried a little there wouldn't be any more.
Enjoyed your top 10; I love how you use your imagination. It's really unique. And varied. You got me confused with Cairo/avatar-me (sim character vs simself)
Late Night
I should put a Business as Usual Bistro in town.
Sending them out to a rabbit hole and forgetting about them as I play back on the home lot can be useful, but sometimes I want to see what's going on in the restaurant.
I will add one.
Good job, Nanny Maid.
They are so in love.
We still have more romantic wishes to satsify.
Trophy husband?
It's going to be a long night. Now they want to woo hoo.
Xara is pouring more of that energizing tea. She's going to be up late too.
I thought they would do it in bed, but they opted for the hot tub.
Oh come on!
It's not like you have to sit in the same exact spot. Now she lost the woo hoo social.
Clicking on woo hooing in the hot tub makes them get out to do the kiss animation.
Ugh!
Routing in this game...
Do you really have to go to the front of the house?
Head/desk.
To the Death phone.
We don't know this person.
Oh well, I hope they had a nice life.
I love this game, but sometimes the routing is down right silly.
Finally!
Gosh, so much work just for woo hoo.
Alright, go to bed.
You too.
What are you still doing up?
?
Something is under there?
Moaning, groaning, and black fog?
Run for it!
I have to admit, something like that did run wild in my imagination as a kid.
Ah, the safety of being in the presence of mom and dad.
He will nap here until that moodlet goes away.
Xara....
First the energizing tea and now the energizer bath, she's going to be the maid that never sleeps.
She's going to ruin her sleep cycle.
Get to bed!
Hmm...
What to look forward to next?
I guess school for the children and continuing the family nectar business.
Entering The Danger Zone
I think I might be making a mistake here.
I have new hardware. Namely, an ASUS 2K monitor. The image quality is really nice, but playing at 2560 x 1440 in The Sims 3, I am noticing more lag than usual. I will be getting a new video card next week, so I hope that with updated drivers brings lag back to something I can stand.
Actually, my main new tech acquisition is supposed to be a new Geforce 1080 video card because I want it for the Oculus Rift and playing Squadron 42 (The Single player game related to Star Citizen multi-player).
I decided to get the monitor too because of the new video card.
Imagery is nice and crisp, I have to admit.
I switch the resolution to 1080 on this monitor and...yuck, back to native resolution.
I sent Sheldon to his first day of school.
This girl is going home because of what's just ahead.
Townies have been gettin' bizay in Roaring Heights.
Oh my gosh, bring out the fashion police!
That's one down.
Too much makeover work while I am testing tech, I'll get to them another day.
This is worse than Twinbrook.
Don't look so worried, Sheldon. They won't eat you.
You might even make a friend of the little girl there... who oddly looks just like you.
I hope upgrading to new tech doesn't obsolete TS3 for me.
Apparently EA has increased the amount of posts on a page.
This really screws up all my pictures threads, especially story threads with links. This also means there are more pictures per pages. The load times should be horrible for people with a slow internet.
So this thread which was initially 39 pages has been compressed into 31pages and my table of contents page is all wrong with bad links that need to be fixed. Not the way I want to spend my weekend.
I have been enjoying your stories and pictures for a while but never commented before. Just wanted to say that they are very entertaining and creative. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future
Hello, long time, no see.
Cairo is still exactly where I left him in this thread.
I had been playing TS4 for quite a while, doing this and that and trying to make it look like the game I want with custom content.
Things were intersting once I bought a game packs and some stuff packs on sale, and City Living helped even more, but now I am already a bit bored with it and TS3 is luring me back.
Two things happened.
1) I noticed that TS4 sims doen't have much, if any at all, negative reactions between sims with incompatible traits. I made two sims to test it and then I made two sims in TS3. The TS3 incompatible sims had way more drama than the TS4 sims.
2) Someone mentions deleting TS3 clubs, bars, and lounges to make their community lots more full.
That makes perfect sense to me. I don't need all those clubs and bars. I only really need three. So this inspired me to return to Bridgeport. I do have several Bridgeport scenarios that I want to play anyway. So now is a good time.
I really do envy TS4's ability to take about any home and place it on any lot, even if you have to clip parts off.
Bridgeport does look a little bit behind the times with all the concrete and not much steel and glass.
This version's scenario is that the city is starting a technological leap from the Into The Future content.
So I do have some ITF buildings which look out of place, but that's fine for a City that is progressing.
Not everyone will have future tech. It's too expensive, so only a small portion of the population will have it.
But since this is only the template save, I can always go back and quickly remove the ITF content for something else.
Old Bridgeport:
New Bridgeport:
Old Bridgeport:
New Bridgeport:
It starts out easy enough, but when you get down to your last few lot changes, things get messy.
I am almost done with what I want to put in, but now I am getting headaches.
Other than ITF content, I am providing room for more homes. I deleted a lot of bars, clubs, and lounges. You really don't need that many. I only need three: A dive bar, an exclusive lounge, and a dance club. I kept the vampire club, because I need it for some other scenarios. I then made use of the new space by pushing the other scrapers upwards, giving me more space for homes in the "suburbs". I also put in some of my favorite community lots.
City Hall used to be here, but the narrow City Hall from ITF allowed me to move it on the other side of town.
I was thrilled that my Secret Society exclusive lounge could go here. But near the end I decided I wanted to place the ITF shopping center in town just for the sake of supporting my scenario.
I had to rebuild my secret society on a narrow lot to do that.
Those ITF lots are huge.
My Simfu building always goes here.
I love the look of it against the skyscrapers, especially at night.
I'm putting in my Ravenloft series of homes in this area.
Most of my favorite homes are in this series.
I feel like It's near the end, but there is still some tedious work ahead.
I am going into everyone of those blasted apartment shells and getting rid of those black enclosed areas that traps reset sims.
That's a source of lag.
I am seriously tempted to take what I have and start playing now.
This is taking more effort than I intended.
I'm getting caught up in all kinds of little details.
Deleting Bridgeport lots usually leaves behind some nasty looking terrain paints.
So you have to go in and clean that up on your new lots. And then I wanted to add new street lights and mailboxes...
I have no space for a Uni's bowling alley, so I added a few lanes to my favorite Arcade.
I have wanted to combine my active science lab with the science lab rabbit hole for a while.
I was inspired to deck it out with Into The Future props.
I like Wayland's Haunt, but that empty building next door is a serious waste of space.
So I connected the building and stole some space from it to upgrade WH.
I want to be a bit self-sufficient from time travel, so I placed the crashed alien ship in the hills of Bridgeport.
It has nanite and crystal spawners too.
If you have not made a park that changes with the seasons, you really should look into it.
It adds some life to your world. These changes were triggered using the season marker, so that's why the weather is still summer.
Spring
Summer
Autumn
Winter
And this is my cheaty lot, way out in the boonies of Bridgeport.
It's like an abandoned mine of sorts that spawn some seriously precious metals and gems.
I use it instead of motherlode. Sometime my sims get lucky and get some big money, other times just a nice amount of simoleons to speed things up. Sometimes I forget about the place and the next sim who goes when I remember it again gets a nice haul.
I am playing my new Bridgeport now.
Well, sort of...
It's more like play-testing while making over the townies. I've saved a version what will serve as master save for the world, but this new save will be the master save for both the town and edited townies.
I will be playing a sim in the Stylist career while I do this and her secondary goal is to acquire this property below.
The House of Mode.
Which means....
EDNA MODE IS BACK!!!
Edna Mode was my main sim when Late Night first came out.
I used her to make over the townies of Bridgeport. I had a great time with her before the next EP came out to distract me From Bridgeport.
Seeing that I am making over Bridgeport again, I decided to bring her back because I really miss her.
But the Edna back then did not have the advantage of Generations, Seasons, Supernatural, Showtime, University, Island Paradise, and Into The Future. It should be a different experience this time.
I had sent Edna to my cheaty abandoned mine out in the boonies to collect metal and gems.
She found some Supernovium and gold.
Now to get over to the stylist salon to check it out.
And here is one of my first issues with this town.
I forgot to zone this lot as a salon. No wonder she didn't have it as a job option.
So, fix it here and in my master save.
The collectables she found wasn't a fortune, but it's enough to get out of this starter house.
And walk over to the starter house next door.
That house only had one bedroom.
Edna had a sidekick when I had played her the first time.
It's boring to play only one sim, so I need a house with another bedroom for her sidekick.
It's a very tiny room.
This is the same sim Edna had as side kick from the Late Night EP.
I'm doing things differently this time and bringing her in as a teen. I am also naming her Buffy.
Yeah, as in Vampire slayer, and this time she's a witch to boot.
She's going to be Robin to Edna's Batman.
Edna is going to clean up this town of odd looking townies and Buffy will cleanse it of vampires.
I actually like Vampires, but none of this day walking sparkling vampires that don't know how to keep it underground.
I will bring in my own and keep their numbers few and hidden.
Now to get to the Bilderchild secret society lounge to check it out.
You too, Buffy. You're with Edna Mode and she isn't going to treat you with kids gloves. You're a big girl now.
Bridgeport's Bilderchild Society
I left off with Edna and Buffy heading to the Bilderchild secret society and exclusive lounge.
What I like about this lounge is that it forces formal dress and attracts particular sims.
So put on that prom dress, Buffy.
The lot is full of special objects in the spirit of TS2 Uni's secret society lot.
Wonderful.
I turn my attention for a moment and they already have Buffy hypnotized.
They had a grand old time making her cluck like a chicken.
She was none too pleased when she snapped out of it.
She has the hot headed trait, so expect her to come back at you.
I like this lounge.
It's the opposite of Wayland's haunt, but it also has a character about it.
I discovered some big issues though.
I did rush it, so it's not a huge surprise.
1) I forgot to put in the bar
2) I forgot the music speaker.
3) I forgot to put chairs around the roulette table.
So this lot is broken.
Collect your winnings, Edna.
We are out of here.
So we are off to Plasma 501, the vampire lounge.
Buffy needs to start a hit list profile of the city's vampires.
Somehow I failed to notice the one vampire that was already here.
"I feel so grown up!"
Paparazzi!
I remember them.
By this time, they were in need of some energy drinks.
But a quick look around an it was obvious there was no evidence of vampires here.
Other than those empty slabs in the basement.
Buffy was disappointed, but she's not ready to take them on anyway.
This was just a scouting mission, but what a waste of her dress. Very tasty vampire bait.
No point in posting the pictures of their race home: moped vs broom.
Bedtime.
Buffy has school tomorrow.
I have to get them out of this house. Her bedroom is tiny.
Harry Potter says: "Ha! That's a grand suite compared to where I lived."
oh cool, spoiler tags are in, that will make pages load much quicker
Interesting seeing bridgeport like that. Ive never gotten around to playing that town seriously, I should if I get a computer upgrade
I suspect the way those apartment shells are constructed are a source of lag.
Almost all of them have enclosed floors on the ground floor. If a sim gets reset, chances are they will be trapped in the base of the skyscraper with no way to get out. I went into all of them and replaced the hidden room marker with a public space marker and added a door so any reset sims can get out.
The Midas Touch
I would imagine awakening to incantations is not the most tranquil start to your day.
I gotta do something about that sleepwear.
What do you mean it looks like she cut it off a ghost?
About those vampires?
Patience, Buffy.
Here is the bowling portion I slapped on the back of my arcade.
It will serve.
What I love about the consigment store is the random stuff you may find when checking out what they have.
Edna bought a Midas Touch potion. Invest in pricey statues...
Ting!
Double your investment.
Bigger house, here we come.
I think Buffy was just getting settled into this one.
They are off to the area of town where my Urbanite homes are.
This is more Edna's style.
She likes ultra modern styling and technology.
Someone is obviously happy.
And someone obviously isn't.
Well you're just the sidekick.
You're just along for the ride, so get over it.
We still have a few hours on that Midas Touch potion.
She might as well pad the bank account a bit more.
Those high energy beds and higher end appliances cost mucho simoleons.
I will get around to styling their bedrooms to be more personal later, or not.
This isn't Edna's goal home. She wants to be on top of that mountain across the bay.

My focus on the toddlers has caused the first household casualty.
Sorry, Mr. Toad.
May you find peace in the nearest landfill.
Toddler training is going well.
They are all walking and talking.
And going to the potty on their own.
Shirley is done with managing their real estate properties.
Now she can move on to more important things.
I am having Sheldon age up early.
Despite being triplets, I like the thought of them time between their birthdays.
So you are becoming the older brother, son.
Hmm...
I guess there is some Cairo in there.
We'll find out as he ages.
This area will have many activities as the years go buy.
Now it's time to be a playground for the kids.
However, it is turning out to be a playground for the adults.
They have wishes to woo hoo in the tree house.
Naughty parents.
Hold on, there were no babies being made, Cairo.
Oh, that thought bubble must be for the current brood.
I have very few hairstyles for children that I like. Sheldon has to settle for this one.
I missed this rocket bouncy rider.
I love the music it makes.
I like this too, but it's lacking in fluffiness.

She does seem rather found of the abacus thought.
Perhaps it's the colors that appeals to her and not the counting.
I love it when my live-in maids get the stir crazy moodlet.
That means it's time to let them loose on the town to let their hair down.
She still has that flying broom.
Maybe I should get her that flying vacuum cleaner.
She was hungry at the time so I sent her out to dinner.
I am doing this all wrong.
I normally have them wear casual clothes and an out on the town hair style.
I also need to find her a love interest.
The parents are also stir crazy and hungry.
I sent them for dinner too.

Forum changes!
Interesting seeing bridgeport like that. Ive never gotten around to playing that town seriously, I should if I get a computer upgrade
See my Sims 3 studio for latest progress.
