Love Generations in general--w/tons of pics [Updated p.63: Firenza Resurrection]

I have Generations and I must say I am feeling a little better about TS3 with all the new stuff.
I also noticed an improvement in animations.

[This thread started out about seated conversations, but with requests to report more, is now my experience with Generations. There be spoilers aplenty, so beware. ]

Seated Conversations

I was sending my Sim couple out to dinner and Velma's old roommate appeared in the selection panel, so I invited her along.
Screenshot-799.jpg

It was a pleasant dinner in a nice atmosphere. I wanted to increase their friendship level, so I invited Velma's friend to stay the night.
Screenshot-803.jpg

One thing that bothered me with TS3 seated conversations was how stiff and awkward they are.
Screenshot-805.jpg

As far as watching television goes, it hasn't changed much.
Their hands stick to their laps like they're glued on.
Screenshot-807.jpg

Perhaps it's my imagination, but eye contact seems to have improved.Screenshot-808.jpg

Making eye contact helps a lot for interaction believability.
Screenshot-809.jpg

Their hands leave their laps once in awhile to make a personal gesture, but no hand gestures at each other while watching television. Hmm...
Screenshot-811.jpg

I turned off the custom TV and it promptly broke.
Screenshot-813.jpg

But then...

my sim's seated conversation came alive.
Screenshot-814.jpg

Well look at that. :-o
Screenshot-815.jpg

Screenshot-816.jpg

Oh... you're just going all TS2 on me now. :D
Screenshot-817.jpg

Ah, it warms my heart.
Screenshot-818.jpg

Boo-yah! leg cross.
Screenshot-819.jpg

Hallelujah, baby!
Screenshot-820.jpg

So much better.
Screenshot-822.jpg

Why can't they bring a little of that to watching TV?
You could say it's humor aimed at portraying how we become zombies when the TV is on, but I don't think that was EA's intent here.
Screenshot-823.jpg

So with the TV fixed, I sent my couple off to bed to leave their guest to roam around the house all night.
Screenshot-824.jpg

 But surprise surprise, she went to bed right after they did. I don't know if it was just a coincidence however.
Screenshot-825.jpg

I've been playing this sim couple for a while and they've had their bachelor/ette parties and have gotten married. No kids yet. I'll probably post more pics showing them and Generations.

I've never seen them cross their legs before. I'll keep an eye out. I've probably never noticed because like you said, it was boring :)

Cooleo I haven't noticed that CK I'll have to check it. I also didn't know they would now go to bed when your sim does.

visitors i invite to spend the night, also go to bed shortly after the homes owners do. So yep I love that, they don't wonder around then complain about no place to sleep unless of course there is no place to sleep.

Is the cute guy your avi?

I'v noticed the interactions too, and they are very nice. I love the hand to the heart gesture!

I tried sleep overs, but they seem broke in my game. - Usually the sims get kicked out when the host go to bed. But i had one guy that had a sleeping back in the inventory, so he just slept in it in the garden :D

Yes, the hand-over-heart gesture is really nice. :-)
I'm still taking it slow with Generations. I have had the bachelor/ette parties and one thing I like is the toast made by one of the party guests. It's a nice touch.

    Velma's Bachelorette Party

I wanted to experiment with a bachelorette party at a dance club instead of a house. I reserved this place for the first try out. This is how it went down...with plenty of pics.
    Screenshot-624.jpg

My first mistake was setting the party to start at 5:00. The ladies started showing up at 4:00 and of course the place was closed. They had to wait outside for an hour.
    Screenshot-622.jpg

When the club finally opened I sent in Velma to set up the buffet table.
    Screenshot-626.jpg

I had no idea what would happen when the party guests became hungry. So I put it in just in case.
    Screenshot-628.jpg

I needn't have bothered. The buffet table was ignored while the ladies chose to order food from the bar.
    Screenshot-630.jpg

Of course no one eats together.
    Screenshot-632.jpg

My second problem was realized when the dancer showed up.
    Screenshot-633.jpg

It's best to have the party at a venue with a single floor. The ladies were all over the place. Some were on the dance floor downstairs, some were upstairs, and other were in the hot tub on the party deck.
    Screenshot-637.jpg

The dancer choose to go upstairs.
    Screenshot-638.jpg

I had Velma call the others upstairs. My VIP access is set to allow anyone in, so I have no idea if VIP access will affect Bachelor/ette party guests.
    Screenshot-639.jpg

Of course Jocasta Bachelor chose that moment to go back downstairs so I had to call her up too. It's like herding cats.
    Screenshot-640.jpg

That's the spirit. Miss Drake dived right in.
    Screenshot-643.jpg

    Cool down, girl.
    Screenshot-645.jpg

Velma had the best relationship with Jocasta Bachelor, so I let her give the toast.
    Screenshot-650.jpg

I thought it was a nice touch.
    Screenshot-651.jpg

No actual drinking of nectar though.
    Screenshot-652.jpg

    Just spritzing...
    Screenshot-653.jpg

    ...and spritzing back.
    Screenshot-654.jpg

I think the toast was a signal for avatar-me to show and spy on the party. I sent him home.
    Screenshot-657.jpg

I eventually let them do their own thing for a while and joined in different activities that were going on.
    Screenshot-646.jpg

    Screenshot-658.jpg

    Screenshot-659.jpg

    Screenshot-660.jpg

    Screenshot-662.jpg

    Screenshot-663.jpg

They are fine about taking care of their own hunger needs.
    Screenshot-665.jpg

    Screenshot-666.jpg

Issy showed up really late. Ironic since avatar-me broke up with her after she cheated and had another sim's baby. I had Velma invite her in case things got boring. :P
    Screenshot-668.jpg

She trotted off to get something to eat.
    Screenshot-669.jpg

    Time for some mischief.
    Screenshot-670.jpg

    Screenshot-671.jpg

    Screenshot-672.jpg

    Screenshot-673.jpg

    Screenshot-682.jpg

    Time to spritz Issy.
    Screenshot-676.jpg

    Screenshot-677.jpg

This party had been going on since 4 PM. The girl was tired.
    Screenshot-678.jpg

    Screenshot-679.jpg

They partied on while she caught a few winks and some were stripping down to their nighties.
    Screenshot-680.jpg

I was all partied out and I sent her home.
    Screenshot-681.jpg

I guess the other stayed until the place closed. That might have been a bad idea though. The girls in her party still have the interaction to be sprayed with nectar.
    Screenshot-689.jpg

The lady's had a pretty tame party.
Avatar-me...things got a little wilder.

Cairo behaved himself, but he was certainly the instigator.

I love when you have threads with Velma. I really like that Sim. XD
But this EP has also made me want to play my game even more... and play more for fun instead of Sim gets job, Sim gets married, Sim gets kid, Sim retires. Repeat.

I've been meaning to upload her and quite a few other sims. I think I'll remove all CC from them first.

    Cairo's Bachelor Party

I thought I had taken more pictures of Cairo's party. I missed some photo ops that got this thing started. :P Still lots of pics though. I intended to hold his party at the bar, but I made a mistake when calling in the party and just rolled with it. So the party took place in his apartment.
    Screenshot-707.jpg

I wasn't sure what to do with these guys. There were no party games. All they did was dance and spray each other with nectar.
    Screenshot-709.jpg

    But then the entertainment arrived.
    Screenshot-710.jpg

    Cherry Blossom. :XD:
    Screenshot-711.jpg

She set up in the kitchen and putting the counter between herself and these guys was good intuition on her part.
    Screenshot-712.jpg

Cycl0n3 Sw0rd wasted no time getting out of his clothes as he proposed a toast.:P
    Screenshot-713.jpg

It must have been the nectar because I suddenly got an idea to try something a little devious.
    Screenshot-714.jpg

I convinced each of the guys to kiss Cherry Blossom.
    Screenshot-720.jpg

She had no issue with it.
    Screenshot-718.jpg

Unfortunately I couldn't say the same for these guys. Jealousy turned really ugly.
    Screenshot-716.jpg

    Whoa!
No TS3 sims has ever reacted this strongly before. She couldn't possibly be more than a romantic interest to any of them...unless there is more history here that I don't know about. :?
    Screenshot-717.jpg

I had to intervene with distraction.
    Screenshot-722.jpg

    Just chill out.
    Screenshot-723.jpg

Uh oh, "Hungry Like the Wolf" comes to mind.
    Screenshot-724.jpg

    Then Stiles loses it.
    Screenshot-725.jpg

 What have I started here.
    Screenshot-726.jpg

Sorry, Stiles. You have to leave.
    Screenshot-727.jpg

I had Cairo dance with her to keep these idiots at bay.
    Screenshot-728.jpg

    Screenshot-729.jpg

Then it was time for Cherry Blossom to leave.
    Screenshot-731.jpg

Hey, where are you guys going?
    Screenshot-732.jpg

Figures. The girl leaves and the party's over.
Aren't you going to put on some clothes?
    Screenshot-733.jpg

    Guess not.
    Screenshot-734.jpg

    So I learned something.
Having all the guys at the party kiss the dancer....
    BAD IDEA.

    Screenshot-735.jpg

While all this was happening Velma was a the community garden working on her gardening skills. I should have given her something more fun to do.
    Screenshot-736.jpg

    Screenshot-737.jpg

The toast must have made her chance clothes. I didn't send her out in that.
    Screenshot-738.jpg

A quick freak-out and she changes back.
    Screenshot-739.jpg

    Screenshot-740.jpg

Nothing happened here. Nope, nothing at all, but she has that:
"I'm not buying it. I'm not buying it one bit," look on her face.
    Screenshot-741.jpg

    "Wakey Wakey."
    Screenshot-742.jpg

"You guys have fun? Watch movies?"
    Screenshot-745.jpg

He looks so innocent, or is trying to.
    Screenshot-743.jpg

"What happened? You guys weren't just sitting around slurping down soda pop."
    Screenshot-746.jpg

    The truth is forgiven.
    Screenshot-747.jpg

There was drama, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I'm going to have to experiment with that on sims I care less about.

    Great pictures!

It looked like they had a pretty good time. - Never seen anyone having their clothes taken before! :D

Seem like "your" bachelor party was about to go terrible wrong! -Where is the dancers bodyguard?!
    - Lucky she got out alive! :)

I haven't tried all the new things in generations yet either, but it does improve the actual playing enormously!
But parties still seem to need a option to gather the guests in one place on the lot.
My game is very bugged though, so i cant get the full experience yet, beside that, generations is what TS3 needed!

Yeah, you can swipe the clothes of anyone taking a skinny dip in Late Night.
That bachelor party did take a nasty turn. I think I need to track those guys down and see if anything is in their memories. Perhaps Cherry Blossom had been flirting around a lot before the party, or them with her.

I think Generations is a very subtle EP that does wonders for the game. As far as parties go, I try to get the sim who called for the party in the party area before the guests arrive. They seem to flock towards that sim, but I wish there was a party marker object that will make sims want to stay close to one area. Parties seem to work well on smaller lots, but not so much fun at my mansions.

My games saved prior to Generations seem a bit shakey and aging seemed wonky since I played those game on epic and everyone had a lot of day under their belts. The new age sliders saw everyone as over-the-hill and bumped everyone to the end of their age stage.

The only bad glitch I've had so far in my new saved game is the camera one when I sent a sim to France. He takes a picture and his action cue gets stuck and he can't do anything. I got him out of it with a "reset sim", but I really didn't like using that in France.

I never though about trying to take the clothes!
    - I play to nice :D

I kind of hope she's been really bad prior to the party. - Otherwise it just seem to mean.

Big lots are a death sense to any sims party! But my last build was on a 64X64 and for once they seem to gather in the same tiny area on that lot, party or not... a little strange, but fine with me!
As nice as generations has turned out to be (in theory at least), there are still some ideal options we're lagging.

Right when i started generations i turned of my epic lifespan to try the new age slider, maybe its luck, but i haven't had any problems with aging. I actually did try a bachelor party, but no speech or dancing went on...

I also had the camera problem. It was just at their home and i got it from buydebug, but had to reset the sim after use.
Sound like your pretty lucky :)
I have so many strange things going on in my game at the moment. Im just trying to have fun with it until a patch hopefully fix it soon.

My Bridgeport is like that. I'm putting it off as I learn more about Generations with Velma and Cairo.

    The Wedding

    I'm enjoying these two sims.
    Screenshot-838.jpg

I've been through dating and bachelor/ette parties. (Those were fun)
But now it's the big day.
    Screenshot-839.jpg

Unfortunately, I'm just learning that the party guest don't seem to care for bench seating. Either that or indoors is just too complicated to path their way to the seats. I've had a wedding before and there was no problem taking a seat in chairs.
    Screenshot-840.jpg

So it's a stand up wedding.
    Screenshot-841.jpg

    Screenshot-843.jpg

    Screenshot-845.jpg

    Screenshot-847.jpg

    Screenshot-850.jpg

    Screenshot-851.jpg

    I love the video camera.
    Screenshot-853.jpg

    I captured their whole day.
    Screenshot-855.jpg

    Screenshot-857.jpg

    Screenshot-859.jpg

    Screenshot-862.jpg

A gnome died on the lot? I didn't even know he had one. :P
    Screenshot-863.jpg

This bit was fun. Cairo wanted to go to France and Velma wanted to go to Egypt. I had to pick one for their honeymoon.
    Screenshot-779.jpg

 So I had them play Gnubb for it. The winner gets to pick the destination.
    Screenshot-782.jpg

    Cairo won.
    Screenshot-794.jpg

    So France it is.
    Screenshot-865.jpg

At the outfitters, and still ga-ga over being married.
    Screenshot-867.jpg

    Ga-ga.
    Screenshot-869.jpg

Ga-ga. They only went of some basic adventures. Got some funny video from it.
    Screenshot-872.jpg

This is a honeymoon after all.
    Screenshot-876.jpg

    Screenshot-874.jpg

I need more EP stuff to turn France into a true vacation destination.
    Screenshot-878.jpg

Time for a new place. The apartment is pretty big, but I'm ready for a change.
    Screenshot-884.jpg

I fully intended to get them a really homey home, but I want to experiment with turning this 2 bedroom urban home into a 4 bedroom one. It has the space.
    Screenshot-885.jpg

The kids will be cramped in this yard though. I can barely squeeze a tree house back there with the moveObjects cheat.
    Screenshot-901.jpg

    Screenshot-886.jpg

    Screenshot-890.jpg

    Screenshot-891.jpg

The old furniture fits in well here.
    Screenshot-894.jpg

I am glad for the small stereo they got for a wedding present. There isn't any room here for the large one.
    Screenshot-893.jpg

    A new skill to learn.
    Screenshot-895.jpg

These EPs are starting to gain synergy. I just wish WA had a vacation element to it. We need an EP that offers a hotel.
    Screenshot-905.jpg

    Screenshot-902.jpg

They live right across from the Bistro. I think they will be entertaining out a lot. That will stop when the babies arrive though. I have to get them to work on that. :P

He's nice in this life, but I have a story scenario I want to play out with Jocasta Bachelor.
    Screenshot-425.jpg

Cairo is like Don Lothario, romancing every woman in town until he gets a bad reputation. And then he comes across a made-over Jocasta and falls instantly in love.
    Screenshot-430.jpg

But Jocasta is married to her jerk of a husband, Simis Bachelor. It wouldn't be difficult if it weren't for his reputation. He also has to win over Bella, which shouldn't be difficult since she hates her dad. Michael Bachelor will probably be packed of to military school.

So I just noticed those changes to the seated conversation animations, and I don't even have Generations installed, so apparently they were included with the patch. I think it's great that they're making these kinds of subtle improvements to the game. :)

Thanks for mentioning it CK213; if I hadn't seen your thread I probably wouldn't have checked it out.

I thought they would be included in a patch. These little details makes a difference in the immersion factor. The toddler on the spring rider is proof of that. And I do have pics.

    Baby Makes Three

Someone is not thrilled with her first day of morning sickness.Screenshot-909.jpg

Cairo has the Jack of All Trades lifetime want. He gets a new job whenever he reaches level 5. Now he's a ghost hunter. I think I might have him be a Firefighter next.
    Screenshot-917.jpg

    Light 'em up!
    Screenshot-923.jpg

    Slimer?
    Screenshot-924.jpg

    Screenshot-925.jpg

I could really use the Ghostbuster's theme music.
    Screenshot-927.jpg

Velma is further along in her pregnancy.
    Screenshot-932.jpg

Watching her wedding video over and over and over...
    Screenshot-930.jpg

CC clothes crossing over into maternity wear. I regret downloading them. :P
    Screenshot-936.jpg

I see the wife still drives even though the husband is taking her to the hospital. She must have shrunk Cairo to fit him in back there.
    Screenshot-937.jpg

"Are you sure you're pregnant? Maybe it's just gas."
    Screenshot-938.jpg

These two offering each other flowers over and over again even though neither of them are interested in having an affair.
    Screenshot-941.jpg

Something wrong with the game logic here. I do like that townie teens are on top of their homework. I wonder if it just happens when I'm around.
    Screenshot-942.jpg

    It's a girl. Vael Firenza.
    Screenshot-945.jpg

I like the music box for the babies room. The baby gets a nice music moodlet.
The monkey was a gift and I promised the gifter I would use in every baby's room. Still using it.
    Screenshot-946.jpg

So I'm just getting around to using the stroller. In truth, I never thought I would use it, but they are so close to the beach it just seems like a great place to use it.
    Screenshot-947.jpg

    Screenshot-949.jpg

I told her to visit the beach, so she's heading there.
    Screenshot-950.jpg

    Screenshot-951.jpg

But what do you do with a baby at the beach?
    Screenshot-952.jpg

    Screenshot-953.jpg

You put it on the ground and head towards the nearest hot tub. :P
    Screenshot-955.jpg

No...you don't do that. I had her choose the Go for a Stroll option.
    Screenshot-956.jpg

I have no idea where they are going.
    Screenshot-957.jpg

This is the most alive I've ever seen one of you little guys...girl.
    Screenshot-958.jpg

All the way to the end of the road.
    Screenshot-959.jpg

Then she turned around to head back.
    Screenshot-960.jpg

I though she was going home, but she head back to where she started.
    Screenshot-961.jpg

That was neat, when I feel like being out and about the neighborhood site seeing and seeing what the townies are up to.
    Screenshot-962.jpg

I think I'll use it mainly for toddlers and destinations where toddler have something to do.
    Screenshot-963.jpg

Cairo gets some baby time. Mom gets day 1. Dad gets day2.
    Screenshot-966.jpg

2 days is all I can take when it comes to babies. Time to age her up.
    Screenshot-967.jpg

    Cute...and blue eyes?
    Screenshot-968.jpg

    Ok, Velma has them.
    Screenshot-969.jpg

Now it's time for something I've wanted to see.
    Screenshot-971.jpg

    Walk this way.
    Screenshot-972.jpg

    The spring rider.
    Screenshot-973.jpg

    Bouncy fun.
    Screenshot-974.jpg

    Time for a nap.
    Screenshot-975.jpg

    Uh oh.
    Screenshot-976.jpg

    Screenshot-977.jpg

    That's just too cute.
    Screenshot-978.jpg

    Look at that face.
    Screenshot-979.jpg

Got some of it on video.
    Screenshot-980.jpg

    Story time.
    Screenshot-981.jpg

    Screenshot-982.jpg

    Sweet.
    Screenshot-983.jpg

    So far, so good.
Vael didn't get an imaginary friend, so I have no idea what that is about yet, but I gave Velma the fertility treatment LTR. We're behind on the babe schedule. More chances for an IF is coming.
    Screenshot-986.jpg

    Still liking this EP. :-)
