Washington D.C. Official Thread *RELEASED*

«13
Alright well, since many people have been telling me to start an official thread here it is. To start, I have posted several images. Washington D.C. is now about 70% done. I still have to build the west side of the city and the Capitol Building which will be the toughest and most time consuming. Sorry for the delay, I took a week off from working on it.

Down the mall looking at the Monument... nothing new here...

TheMall1.jpg

Looking down the mall from where the Capitol Building will be. Notice the buildings on the right and the Smithsonian Museums around the mall.

Mall12.jpg

An aerial photo of the city. Lots of things still to be filled in.

Mall11.jpg

A nice aerial shot looking down the mall.

Mall10.jpg

The Air and Space Museum

mall9.jpg

Smithsonian Castle

Mall8.jpg

Mall7.jpg

Some people have asked for some close-ups of the White House, unfortunately no interior shots yet.

Mall6.jpg

The White House again, try to picture buildings filled in behind it.

Mall5.jpg

The White House, from a distance.

Mall4.jpg

A classic shot if there ever was one.

Thanks, It might not be sprawling to the edge of the maps only because it would be too large to play on. I'm thinking of making it bigger though. Lots of details left to be added.

I've never been to Washington, or even America, so I don't know how big it's supposed to be anyway  It's still big for a sims-world anyway - looks like a proper city. ;)

Yeah, I've been there once, but I'm mostly going off satellite imagery and photos.

The only problem I have is that The buildings look nothing like they should. The Late Night 'skyscraper shells' are very out of place here. I would recommend downloading or making several normal builds and just place hidden or level skip markers in them to make them like apartments or community buildings.

Washington D.C. always houses really cool festivals right across from the museums in those blank spots you have. So I have a couple of ideas for you. You can add some picnic tables, maybe set up a little stage for musicians, add a little cafe etc. It changes all of the time but it is basically a really big park.

It's gonna take me a little longer than I expected. I'm redoing all the buildings so that they look like they fit in more. Most of the buildings will be handcrafted. I'll see if I can finish it up in 2 weeks but I'm not sure yet.

So, I've encountered quite a bit of trouble.

It is no longer letting me edit in game. Every time I get to the loading menu it goes black and closes out. If anyone has a solution, I'd love to hear it because I'm getting really fed up with the bugs on this. If there is no solution I'm going to have to try something that would take a long time to explain so I'm not going to do it.

Anyway, I'm gonna keep moving along best I can...

Hi, the world looks amazing. I've been to Washington D.C. and it does look like it. One suggestion though on the White House, In pictures there are four (4) windows on each side of the house not five (5). You could change it if you would like but it's looking very well done so far. May download it when it's finished.
